Bernard Smith, Executive Chef
Chef Bernard Smith graduated from Johnson and Wales University in 1995 with a degree in Culinary Arts. He has worked in the kitchens of various hotels, restaurants and venues worldwide. Directly out of college, Smith took a job with Wyndham International Hotels and Resorts and rose through the ranks from Sous Chef to Executive Chef while working in Dallas, Chicago, Aruba and Baltimore over a ten year period. He stayed in the Baltimore region and became the Executive Chef of Hayfields Country Club where he worked for seven years. Prior to joining The Grand and Embassy Suites by Hilton-Baltimore Inner Harbor, Smith was the Senior Chef Manager at Compass Group Restaurant Associates where he oversaw the culinary function for the U.S. House of Representatives, World Bank and BET Network. As Executive Chef at The Grand, Smith will oversee daily culinary operations, select the highest quality of food selections and create custom menus for each special event.
